Eastern Eagle Mimajualuksikw - It Gives Us Life: This album marks Eastern Eagle twenty-sixth year of singing Powwow. Throughout the past few years, we have had some ups and downs, including losing a few of our brothers. The healing spirit of the Drum has kept us together and has inspired us to share our new songs with you. We sing from our hearts and we sing for the people. The Drum is the Heatbeat, the Drum is our medicine. it Gives Us Life.
Eastern Eagle XX -
Twenty Years of Powwow: Eastern Eagle are a Mi’kmaq powwow drum group from Nova Scotia. They are celebrating there 20th anniversary and the songs in this cd are some of there best over the years and some new ones too...
Rezonation: This album is is a mixture of traditional and contemporary powwow songs. Traditional songs are sung in sylabic sounds..while contemporary songs are written in native language. We recorded this album in the fall at our gym in Shubenacadie First Nation. Our friends and family were around us and we were inspired to sing our hearts out.
Softer Side As the title implies...this cd is much softer (that powwow)...We grabbed a bunch of singers and came up with a Hand Drum cd which is a bit traditional Mi'kmaq (micmak), bit love story, bit round dance and bit honour song. We wanted to create an album you could listen to all day...and start singing along...
